Job Summary

Haven House Addiction Treatment is a JCAHO-certified Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program. The mission of Haven House is to provide a complete wrap-around continuum of treatment for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our mission is borne from the empathy and understanding we have for the devastating effects of addiction as well as the great hope and certainty we place in the healing process. To carry out our mission we offer the most effective evidence-based therapies provided by the leading experts in the field. Services provided include medically-managed detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient, sober living, and employment services.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Treatment Tech assists and monitors clients throughout their daily activities in the residential component of our program. These activities include wake-up chore supervision, milieu management, transport to medical appointments, assists with meal service, assists with laundry and clean-up, assist with milieu management, assist with transport to medical appointments etc. Plays a vital role as liaison between client activity and the clinical team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Intake and orientation of clients to house rules.
  • Conduct searches of property brought to facility and lock-up of contraband and medications.
  • Assist clients in all aspects of day and evening activities.
  • Observe, monitor and document client activity using facility-specific systems.
  • Complete 30-minute detox checks.
  • Conduct a shift change at the end of every shift.
  • Facilitate morning meditation and other assigned groups.
  • Transports clients to and from necessary appointments.
  • Supervises self-administration of client medications.
  • Ensures physical plant safety and security by conducting regular house checks, fire drills, and disaster drills per policy and procedure.
  • Monitor and record client vitals.
  • ATA prevention; including one-on-one peer counseling, immediate notification (via in person or by telephone) of Chief Operating Officer, Clinical Director, and Therapist.
  • Conducts UA drug screen collection when directed, following appropriate procedures.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings.
  • Professional and compassionate interaction with clients.
  • Understand and maintain company policies regarding professional ethics.
  • Have a general understanding and/or training in cultural diversity issues with clients.

  • Residential Treatment Center: 1 year

Required licenses or certifications:

  • Valid CA Drivers License
  • First Aid and CPR

Qualifications and Skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 year working in a Residential Treatment Center or CAADAC, CATC, CAADE / equivalent certification.
  • Registered Recovery Worker Certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
  • Working knowledge of 12-step and other recovery-related programs.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to effectively summarize client interactions and communicate clearly via e-mail.
  • First AID and CPR Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Must provide negative TB-test verified within the last 6 months.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have a clean driving record and insurable by our insurance carrier.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain current personal auto insurance.
  • Working knowledge of electronic medical records including Kipu, is preferred.
